Top strength coach, Andy McKenzie ASCC will assess not only how you move, but crucially, how you function in every plane of movement. Renowned sports nutritionist, Ben Coomber ISSN, will be on hand to identify what is going on inside your body using the very latest in segmental body composition technology.
Workshops and teaching on functional training will be the focus of the day, where you will increase your knowledge of what is required to achieve your ultimate fitness targets.
Functional training is a popular phrase in the industry used to describe a way of training. Functional training is really about complimenting your everyday movement so for example, performing squats would be more effective in supporting your ability to rise from a sofa than knee extensions would. Therefore, carrying out certain exercises each day ie push, pull, squat, lunge and carry would support movements that we need to do as part of our daily living. The real art is blending these exercises into a training program that best suits your lifestyle or chosen sport.
If you answer yes to any of the above, then make sure you drop by our stand and speak with any of the team.
Assessments on the day
If you’re into training and like to follow a healthy diet, then part of your regime should be on-going assessment. After all, if you are not assessing, you are guessing! Throughout the weekend, The Training Lab stand is running individual assessments. You will receive information that will enable you to develop and hone the future direction you take in both your training, and your diet.
Functional Movement Screening
Functional Movement Screening will allow you to learn and understand how your body is moving through the three planes of movement, which muscles are not operating as they should, where your posture lies in both static and moving positions, and thus what movements are placing excessive stress on the joints and spine due to imbalance.
From this assessment, the Team will help you to identify weaknesses and as a result, further identify areas for you to work on in your future training to create a stronger and more balanced you.
Body Composition Analysis
Balanced body composition is crucial your overall health, fitness and appearance. Body Composition Analysis is the perfect starting point in firstly understanding where you are physically, and then in deciding where you want to be, and crucially, the steps that you need take to achieve your objectives.
Knowing your body fat percentage, lean muscle tissue, metabolic age, hydration status, bone mass and BMI provides to base with which to measure the effectiveness of your future diet and training programs.
Taking advantage of an assessment over the weekend will also give you discounted access to the Training Lab’s online coaching portal where you will have the opportunity to transform your body by working online on a one-to-one basis with a Training Lab coach, at a fraction of the cost of offline sessions.
You will leave our workshops educated on how to improve how you move, and more importantly, be able to use this information as part of your very next training sessions.
