Visitors pile in to the BodyPower Expo at the NEC...
Temperatures weren’t the only thing swelling on the weekend of May 22 this year, as the BodyPower Expo experienced a significant increase in visitor numbers.
15,723 visitors piled through the doors, indicating a 92% increase in visitors upon the previous year. Marketing Director Ollie Upton said “This year was a critical year for us. We worked hard to ensure we had new, fresh content that could relate to the visitor and would appeal to them. We wanted to create a unique visitor experience that allowed them to really witness first hand what the show was all about. To get a visitor number like we have done shows the demand for a leading fitness show in the UK. We plan to continue listening and speaking to our visitors and exhibitors to ensure BodyPower keeps growing and improving. “
Highlights of the show included appearances from Mr Olympia Jay Cutler, X Man Toney Freeman, Phil “The Gift” Heath, 100m hurdle world champion Lolo Jones plus many more. High level competitions took place throughout the show, such as the Commonwealth Games Wrestling qualifier and the British Bench press championships. On the main stage, many of the finest BodyBuilders in the UK competed in the UKBFF qualifier and in the Strongman arena, the battle of the giants took place. Whichever way you turned, there were things to do, people to see, products to sample and challenges to get involved in.
